The Rink 1916
Charlie Chaplin’s beloved Tramp takes a job as a clumsy waiter by day and becomes a surprisingly graceful skater by night. Packed with slapstick chaos, mistaken identities, and Chaplin’s legendary roller-skating antics, The Rink is one of his most iconic silent comedies. Co-starring Edna Purviance and Eric Campbell, this short blends humor, charm, and physical brilliance in a way only Chaplin could, cementing its place as a timeless favorite.
D.O.A. 1949
Frank Bigelow, a man who is mysteriously poisoned and has only days to find his killer and the motive behind his death. With the help of a police detective and his own detective skills, Frank embarks on a thrilling race against time to discover the truth.
The Duke Is Tops 1938
A small-time stage promoter risks everything to help his rising star reach success, only to be left behind when her career takes off. This independent musical is best remembered for featuring Lena Horne in her dazzling film debut. With lively music, heartfelt performances, and a story about ambition, love, and sacrifice, The Duke Is Tops is a milestone in early Black cinema that highlights Horne’s charisma and foreshadows her legendary Hollywood career.
Sherlock Jr. 1924
Buster Keaton stars in this silent-era masterpiece of comedy and imagination. Playing a humble movie projectionist who dreams of becoming a great detective, Keaton drifts off into a fantasy where he steps into the film itself – solving crimes and dodging danger with his trademark deadpan expression and breathtaking stunts. Famous for its groundbreaking special effects and dazzling physical comedy, Sherlock Jr. remains one of Keaton’s most inventive and beloved films, a timeless celebration of cinema’s magic and humor.
